Dr Anitha Karthik nominated for Diversity & Inclusion Award

10 Sep 2026

We are delighted to announce that Thematic Working Group VI PDRA, Dr Anitha Karthik, has been shortlisted for the Diversity & Inclusion Award at the upcoming Accelerate to Zero Awards. She was nominated by TWG IV lead Professor Robert Hairstans for her work championing a just and inclusive transition to a net-zero built environment by connecting equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) with skills development, education and STEM engagement. Initiatives such as the Skills Knowledge Hub, Powering Futures, Stemovators and the Next Generation Summit, have helped her to engage with learners, educators and industry stakeholders across Scotland, and through this she is helping to create a more diverse, skilled and future-ready workforce for the built environment sector.

The Accelerate to Zero Awards are part of the BE-ST Fest 26 programme of events. They celebrate the businesses, organisations and individuals making the biggest contributions to decarbonising the built environment and supporting the just transition to zero carbon. A full list of nominees can be found on the BE-ST website.

We would like to extend our congratulations from all at CeNZ-HighDB, and we wish Dr Karthik the best of luck when the winners are announced at the Awards Ceremony on 5th November.
